Just found your new website, good idea and hope it thrives.
How about mentioning the free bus pass scheme in case some don't already know about them and the basics of how to make full use of them i.e. Down here in Hampshire we can go anywhere providing it starts or finishes in Hampshire but Southampton and Fareham are exceptions in that you cannot travel outside of those cities/towns. Also remind people it all changes in 2008. You might also other travel concessions like trains and coaches.
You have a link to the pension service but im sure many men reaching 60 don't realise they can get pension credit at 60 and that they do have to make themselves available for work. Its worth mentioning as well that it doesn't depend on national insurance contributions.
Have you considered whether its worth suggesting holiday accommodation sharing. i.e. share a holiday villa somewhere so that the price is better because its 4 or 6 people rather than just 2. Perhaps camping holidays with internet friends as well and try and get discounts for website members. (may not be easy because camp sites are one off places usually.) Were no experts on holidays to be honest but its something were beginning to look at for next year.
Its also worth checking out the diamond club which is a pub meals discount card for a chain of pubs. coverage is patchy but worth looking at.
Another thought is a mutual internet help service. As an example ive got many years experience with computers and internet so can sometimes help others over the phone who may need a bit of help finding their way around.
